Cultural practice
Culture carries with it a certain ambiguity. Eriksen (2010: 3) explains this ambiguity as follows:
on the one hand, every human is equally cultural; in this sense, the term refers to a basic similarity within humanity distinguishing us from other animals including the higher primates. On the other hand, people have acquired different abilities, notions, etc., and are thereby different because of culture. Culture can, in other words, refer to basic similarities and to systematic differences between humans.
